Living Manger

This garden blossoms once a year, when the grandparents at this residence get dressed in satin and become kings and shepherds to witness the birth of their Savior, to bring the ancient city of Bethlehem back to life, just as it happened on the day celebrated every Christmas.
The ceremony proceeds through each of the stations up to the central grotto, where the main manger stands, with children kneeling around the cradle of the newborn Jesus.

Each December over the years, I have attended this event with my camera, intending to document and capture the extraordinary nature of this celebration, which remains somehow hidden.
Drawn to what shines for itself, here I found a way through which the vitality of faith and a shared identity are rekindled
These portraits seek to understand the ways in which the members take part in this total moment, in which each and every one gathers beneath the same star, now that of adoration.
